Three groups coming together to celebrate the 12 years of Institut for (X) and share their passion for street performance!
The parade took place around Institut for (X), gathering fire-players, juggles, dancers, percussionists, and clowns.
About the tgroups:
- Aarhus Flow is a young community aiming to connect flow artists, fire dancers, spinners, jugglers and great people in one place.
- Aarhuspanti is a murga porteña group, which is a particular kind of street art from Argentina. It resembles a Carnival parade with percussionists and dancers and it's the celebration of Freedom and Liberation from the slavery times. The choreographies recall the tied ankles and the parody of the often-drunk masters, leading into a tireless dance that celebrates Freedom by breaking the physical and psychological chains -whatever they are now- of oppression.
-SPAA, Street Performing Arts Association is a non profit that hosts events and workshops related to street performance. SPAA believes that art belongs to the people, and that bringing art to the streets encourages spontaneous interactions and relationships with the unfamiliar.
- Institut for (X) is a culture, business and education platform founded in 2009. It is an independent and not-for-profit culture association arising from citizen initiatives.
