SPAA is a non-profit association that stands for Street Performing Arts Association and for wanting to bring life to the streets of Aarhus through street performance! SPAA is a project created in 2019 from a dream of creating a street performance festival in Aarhus. After dreaming it for long, SPAF (Street Performing Arts Festival) had its first edition in August 19, 2023.
The goal of SPAF is to make culture free and accessible to everyone, let people discover something unexpected, and break boundaries between artists, the audience and their respective cultures, through interaction!
In adittion to our annual festival SPAF, SPAA also hosts events and workshops in Aarhus throughout the year, working together wit both: local and international artists. By partaking in our workshops, you will have the chance to discover your artistic aptitudes through movement, songs, stage-presence, self-expression, team building, co-creation and choreographies.
SPAA is working to connect the communities of Aarhus that already exist within the fields of street performance, and bring new people to enjoy and participate in the world of circus, dance and theatre through workshops and events. Today the association counts with several board members, and many more helpful engaged individuals who have reached out and offered their assistance and energy in making SPAA come to life.
